FAMOUS CONTEMPORARIES Glière, Medtner and Rachmaninov

The Russian Chamber Art Society is thrilled to welcome soprano Inna Dukach, who has sung at Covent Garden and will appear next season in "Madama Butterfly" at the Metropolitan Opera, to the RCAS stage. With pianists Vera Danchenko-Stern and Azamat Sydykov, Dukach and baritone Kevin Wetzel, an RCAS favorite, will perform songs by Sergei Rachmaninov, Nikolai Medtner and Reinhold Glière, the "Famous Contemporaries" who studied at the Moscow Conservatory. In addition, violinist Emil Chudnovsky, winner of top prizes in nine international competitions, will play romances by Glière and Rachmaninov.

Special program addition: At the Feb. 24 concert, Dukach and Sydykov will give the Washington premiere of Alexander Tcherepnin's op. 16 song cycle.
